KAUAI ISLAND ELECTRICAL CO-OP (KIUC) RANKED #1 IN THE SEPA UTILITY SOLAR RANKINGS

SEPA is the Solar Electric Power Association, the gold standard for evaluation and ranking as far flung as New Mexico, Arizona, Georgia, Colorado, California, Maryland, and Oregon, all of which had Top Ten rankings for specific municipalities.

Who was #1: KAUA’I!  This recognizes the decades of hard work, focus, and determination of the Boards through the years, the public, government, and providers here on Kauai.

Imagine our little island in the middle of the great Pacific Ocean coming out tops in this critical, long-term, environmental leap forward.  But it only makes sense as we have been virtually 100% dependent on shipped-in fuel for power.  The times are changing, and for the better.

HANALEI CANOE CLUB ACTIVE IN FUND RAISING

Famed Hanalei Canoe Club participated in the Tahiti Fete fund raiser, Hanalei Beach and Bay, July 22, a big success.  There were canoe races, on-beach kids (keiki) contests, food and beverages, music and a typical beautiful Hanalei sunny day.  The Hanalei Canoe Club and others are active in raising money for the State canoe races and general costs.  Among the sponsors were Tom and Donna Rice of Century 21 All Islands in Princeville, and many others. These uniquely Hawaiian festivals are well worth attending.  Bring your beach chairs and sun lotion!
